My research focuses on the response of ground penetrating radar to thin layers (e.g. heavy mineral laminations) in sedimentary environments, especially in coastal areas such as barrier islands. Based on the results of my master’s thesis that involved radar wave behavior in coastal sediments of Waites Island, South Carolina, I am continuing similar research in other barrier islands (Santa Rosa Island and Hutchinson Island) of Florida. This study is being done in collaboration with the coastal research group at USF.
