The Student Karst Research Group at USF announces our 3rd Semi-Annual "Best of Karst" Event January 23-24, 2008.

We are proud to be hosting not one, but two distinguished professors this time, Drs. Henry Schwarcz and Derek Ford, both from McMaster University. The event's schedule (see below) includes several talks, a panel discussion, and reception on Wednesday. Expect to run into other karst notables from around the country who will be present at this event.

**MAIN EVENT** Wed. Jan 23rd, 2008- 4:00-5:15pm

Best of Karst co-lecture by Drs. Henry Schwarcz and Derek Ford

(I) Trees of Stone:  Detecting Climates and Climate Change in Stalagmites in Caves” - Dr. Derek Ford

 (II) Stone Water Bottles: Using Fluid Inclusions to Reconstruct Past Climate- Dr. Henry Schwarcz

Reception will follow colloquium.

400 - 5:15pm- Best of Karst Co-Lecture featuring Drs. Henry Schwarcz and Derek Ford. Titles:

Thursday, Jan. 24th, 2008- 11:00am to 12:15pm
Lecture by Dr. Derek Ford entitled "How to enlarge a National Park: A Case Study of South Nahanni River National Park, Reserve, Northwest Territories, Canada" held in ULH 101.
