GeoTrans (www.geotransinc.com) has several openings for geologists or engineers with coursework in groundwater flow, contaminant transport, water resources, waste site remedial engineering, and flow and transport modeling.  We are interested in highly motivated B.S or M.S. level students with strong analytical and communication skills that have a desire to work for a dynamic consulting firm on projects of national interest.  We have both an immediate need (March, 2008) and longer term (> June, 2008) needs.  Prior experience in models such as MODFLOW, MT3D, FEFLOW, and GoldSim is a plus.  U. S. citizenship is also a plus due to the nature of some of our contracts.  We are located in Roswell, Georgia, a northern suburb of Atlanta.  If you have any students you can recommend or that may be interested please have them send their resume and letter of interest to pandersen@geotransinc.com.  Thank you!

The South Florida Water Management District is currently advertising paid internships for undergraduate (junior and senior) and graduate level students for the summer (June 1 to Aug 22).  We have 21 positions, ranging from engineering (civil, structural, electrical), biology (including two paleoecology projects, and one at LILA for education/outreach), hydrology (and modeling), water chemistry, library science, financial/auditing, and water regulations.  A complete list and description of the positions is attached.  The paleoecology internships (starts May 1) and LILA internship are expected to be year-long part-time positions.

Students must apply online at our website (we can’t accept resumes personally):  go to www.sfwmd.gov, follow the career opportunities link to the internship program, register and apply.  Students can apply for multiple positions, depending on their interest.  Applications will be reviewed in March and we expect to have hiring decisions finalized by April.
