This meeting aims to showcase current archaeological
and ethnohistorical research in Mesoamerica being conducted by
scholars resident in the Southeastern United States, with the greater goal of
encouraging productive discussion, communication, and interaction. The event
includes 20 presentations from Mesoamerican archaeologists, art historians, and
ethnohistorians from 15 different colleges, universities, museums, and
foundations who will discuss their active investigations of precolumbian and
early colonial Mesoamerican societies.
The conference will take place in the TECO Room of
the College of Education at the University of South Florida, Tampa. This event is free and
open to the public, and there is no registration fee. Parking for the event is
free and available in Lots 1 and 7 in front of the College. Students are more
than welcome to attend. We gratefully acknowledge the financial support of our
