THE PARK CENTRAL HOTEL (640 Ocean Drive)
History is all around you at The Park Central. Designed by Henry Hohauser, one of the foremost architects of the art deco movement, The Park Central Hotel in South Beach is regarded as a shining example of his work, a jewel in the crown of Miami Beach hotels. The Park Central is located at 640 Ocean Drive, just steps from the ocean in the heart of South Beach’s Art Deco district. Nearby are the restaurants and clubs which are at the heart of Miami Beach’s nightlife. The Wolfsonian museum, where a special tour will be arranged for SSPHS members, is within easy walking distance. Two great restaurants offer cuisine to suit every palate. Quinn’s at The Park Central is the place for delightful seafood and meat dishes with a “Floribbean” flair. Watch the world go by from the covered verandah or be part of the action at your candlelit table on Ocean Drive. Quinn’s Bar is open daily for drinks in The Park Central’s beautiful art deco lobby. Casablanca Restaurant also provides terrace or sidewalk dining, and is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

THE WOLFSONIAN-FIU

Some of our event meetings will be held at The Wolfsonian-FIU Museum. The Wolfsonian is a museum located in the heart of historic Miami Beach, within easy walking distance of the world-famous Art Deco hotels. Its fascinating collection of objects from the modern era (1885-1945) focuses on how art and design shape and reflect the human experience. The museum further engages the visitor by complementing its collection with thought-provoking discussions of the context and connection among its objects. We encourage visitors to explore the material culture of the past to better understand its relevance to the present. The museum is located within walking distance from the hotel.

BOOK EXHIBIT
The Scholar's Choice will be managing the book exhibit at the annual meeting. The exhibit will be set up at the Park Central Hotel on Friday and Saturday, April 20-21.  Authors who would like to have their book included in the display should contact their publisher and have the publisher contact The Scholar's Choice. Please keep in mind that the publishers pay a fee to display with The Scholar's Choice and may not have the marketing budget necessary to honor all requests, particularly
for older titles. It is The Scholar's Choice policy to have one copy of the book on display. Please note that ALL requests must be made by the publisher, not the author.  Therefore, you are encouraged to contact your publisher ASAP.  Please contact your publisher directly - do not call The Scholar's Choice.  The person who handles publisher reservations at The Scholar's Choice is Debby Pitts. She may be reached by your publisher at djpitts@scholarschoice.com or at 585-262-2048 x108.
