CALL FOR PAPERS: 34th ANNUAL SSPHS CONFERENCE,
APRIL 1-4, 2004 (LOS ANGELES)
The Society for Spanish and Portuguese Historical Studies invites you
to participate in its 34th annual meeting in Los Angeles, California. The
conference will take place on the campus of the University of California,
Los Angeles on 1-4 April 2004.
As is customary, this year's meetings will not focus on a specific theme.
The SSPHS will, as always, welcome paper submissions addressing all aspects
of the history of Spain and Portugal, and their interconnections with the
broader world. Members are invited to submit individual proposals, as well
as complete panels (or nearly complete panels) dedicated to a common theme.
SSPHS sessions should include a chair, a commentator, and three panelists
giving presentations of twenty minutes each. All participants must be members
of the SSPHS; graduate students presenting their first paper are eligible
for a complimentary membership. For information on becoming a member of SSPHS,
please visit our website at http://www.ku.edu/~iberia/ssphs/ssphs_main.html
and follow the links for membership.
The deadline for proposals is December 15, 2003
