The Department of Chemistry is pleased to announce the Academic Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) Program, which began during the Fall semester of 2005. Students will have the opportunity to do research for an entire semester in a faculty mentors laboratory as well as participate in scheduled events. The scheduled events will include seminars on faculty research, writing, patents and licensing, presentation skills, graduate school, as well as a tour of a company. Students will register for CHM 4970 and can receive 1 to 3 credit hours. To receive credit, students will be required to write a short research paper as well as present a poster at an end of semester poster event.
Within these pages you will find information about the research projects, the faculty mentors, the guidelines, and the proposed schedule. If you are interested in participating in the program please fill out an online application and submit as soon as possible.
We are accepting applications for the Fall 2008 Academic REU program. You need to apply before you can register for CMH 4970. We will contact you with your faculty mentor and then you can complete the permit form and register for the course.
Please feel free to contact one of the faculty mentors or the program coordinators if you have any questions.
